Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.
I'm inspired by people all the time, but there is one person recently that has motivated me the most to pick up the violin and continue to reach my full potential as a violinist. I've already posted something on him earlier this week, but that person is Andrew Bird. Now, I've seen a lot of violinists perform, but he seems to show the most soul in his music. He radiates passion from his music. You can tell that he LOVES what he does.
source
I have been obsessed with the idea of picking up the violin again. I can't thank my mom enough for putting me through lessons when I was 5 until I was 18. I just regret not putting forth more effort. I should of practiced more and I shouldn't have ever stopped playing. I just thought it was something my mom MADE me do, but now I realize how fortunate I am to have had a talent like that. I've been doing some soul searching for the past couple of years and I've been trying to find one thing that I could be really good at and really enjoy and it's been there this whole time. I have the sources to be a really good violinist.
I dusted off my violin from my closet the other day. I seriously haven't even opened the case in at least 3 years. When I saw it laying there I almost burst into tears when I saw that most of the horse hair on my bow was broken and the bridge on my violin was crooked. I tore off the loose horse hairs and fixed the bridge. I rosined by bow and pulled the bow across the A string. It was SOOOOOO out of tuned. After a few minutes of tuning it, I busted out with a warm up song I would always play before practice. I didn't forget how to play!! Of course, Kimber heard and ran into my room with a look of amazement. She didn't even know I had a violin, let alone know that I knew how to play. She said, "Mommy, I want a violin. I want to try it." So, I held the violin and let her run the bow across the strings. Her face lit up. That was it for me. I need to do this not only for myself, but to get my daughter interested in music too.
So, my plan is this: Any extra time I have, will go to playing, listening, and reading music that way I'm up to speed when I start lessons again. MAYBE I will update my progress with a video soon.

30 Day Project//Day 14.
Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.
My sweet baby bear, Kimber.
It's strange to think back to the days before I had Kimber. Having a child makes you realize how selfish you really were. You now have a child that is YOURS and it's YOUR responsibility that they become the VERY best that they can be by giving them every opportunity to become great. Kimber is just like me. Very stubborn and independent. No matter how many times she will be given advise, she'll have to experience everything herself and learn the hard way. She's going to be very difficult to deal with when she becomes a young adult. Every time I think about her becoming a teenager, I cringe. At least I know what's to come and how to deal with it. I hope we will have a relationship like my mom and I have now. I seriously don't know what I would do without my mom. My mom always tells me how much I'm like her and how much Kimber is like me. I love how Kimber stares at me while I'm getting ready in the bathroom. She loves to put make-up on with mommy. She's always asking questions and she's ready to learn. The other day she was talking with my mom and she said,"Nanny, I want to go to school." Just out of nowhere. She doesn't even know anyone her age that goes to school. I guess this means I should look into some pre-schools in my area. I was going to wait until she was 4 to put her in pre-k, but if she thinks she's ready then I'm all for it. I will enroll her in dance classes this year too. I can't wait to see her in a little ballet slippers and tutu. She's going to LOVE it! I'm also planning on having her take harp lessons when she's a little older. With a child like mine, you HAVE to keep her constantly busy, or she'll become bored and crave challenges. Just like me! I can keep going on and on about her, but I'll spare you. I'm SO blessed to have such a wonderful, smart, beautiful and loving daughter. I don't know what I would do without her in my life.

30 Day Project//Day 13.
Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.
source
This is really hard for me to pick just one band/artist. I love music so much and every week I have a band/artist that I become obsessed with. This week I'm really into Andrew Bird. I've always liked his music, but this week I am completely obsessed with it and it's probably because I would REALLY like to pick up the violin again. I started playing when I was 5 years old and stopped when I was about 18. It's been so long that I feel like I've forgotten everything. I pulled out my violin last night and tuned it. It was so out of tuned. My bow is ruined because the bow wasn't loosened while it was in the case for all those years and most of the horse hair broke. Luckily, violin bows aren't too expensive and I plan on buying one soon. Andrew Bird started playing at a young age as well and was taught with the Suzuki Method. I was also taught by the Suzuki Method. I've lost all my Suzuki Method books so I plan on buying those soon and starting again.

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.
I really don't hate a lot of things, but there is something I cannot stand to see and that one this is gaudy outfits and accessories on babies.
source
If I see a poor child in huge bows and outfits screaming with neon pink with animal prints, I WILL slap the mother. You're making your baby look like a little whore baby. Neon colors and animal prints should of been left behind in the late 80s and early 90s. With huge neon colored flowers on their heads, you can't see your baby's pretty little face. Keep it simple. Babies are beautiful and don't need gaudy accessories to cover up their natural beauty.

30 Day Project//Day 10.
Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most messed up things with.
source
I know this sounds horrible, but I don't have a best friend. Jason and my mom don't count. They have a special place in my heart, but outside of husband and my mom, I really don't have a best friend. I have several good friends that I love dearly, but no one to go on last minute road trips together or anything fun like that. I'm sure some people are going to be hurt by this post, but it's the honest to God truth. I consider myself a push over, though. Anytime I do have a "best" friend they end up walking all over me. I have to admit...that IS my fault, but why do people have to be so mean? If I wind up only having my family as my only friends, I will be happy with that. At least I know they won't take advantage of my kindness.

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.
My mom.
My mom is the one on the right. She's going to kill me for this. Hahaha! I love this picture. It reminds me of...me. :D My mom has ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS been there for me. Even through my rebellious teenage years. She's always the person I talk to if I have a problem and I can't talk to Jason. I'm so much like her it's ridiculous and I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't know what I would do without her. I love you, Mom!! <3

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item.
I'd have to say my most treasured item is probably my Canon EOS Digital camera. I'm new to photography and I love exploring new ways to shoot and finding out the capabilities it has. It's the best birthday/Christmas present ever!! :D

Gettin' Healthy!
source
Jason and I have decided to go on a diet. The only thing we have in our pantry and fridge are fresh fruits, veggies, fat-free yogurt and lean meats. No sodas, no sweets and I'm trying to stay away from anything that has preservatives and artificial junk in it.
I miss being super fit like I was in high school. I could run 5 miles without breaking a sweat. Now, I can barely run to the end of the block without stopping. A friend of mine told me about The Couch to 5K program app on her iPhone. I'm not cool enough to have an iPhone (I have a Droid) but I DID find it via Google here. It seems pretty easy. I'm going to start running tonight.
I've also been using as many natural beauty and hygiene products as possible.
source
I use Burt's Beeswax Shampoo and Conditioner daily and I take hair and skin vitamins three times a day. My hair is the healthiest it's been since before I started coloring it 10 years ago. I'm hoping to grow it super long. So far, it's working. :)
Burt's Bees also has an awesome line of natural soaps. LOVE IT!

What are you doing to make your life healthier? If you have ANY suggestions for me, let me know!! It would be much appreciated. Wish me luck!!!

Day 06 - A picture of a person you’d love to trade places with for a day.
source
I would love to trade places with Florence Welch from Florence + The Machine. Not only does she have a voice that make the angels cry, she has a fabulously playful wardrobe, striking red hair and a British accent. The total package.

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.
Mad Men is my most FAVORITE t.v. show. I'm really picky about t.v. shows because I never have time to watch t.v., so when I have the time, it better be worth it. I love everything about Mad Men, the style, the story, the cast, and I love everything about the 50's and 60's. If you've never seen Mad Men, you're definitely are missing out.

30 Day Project//Day 01.
Day 01 - A picture of yourself with ten facts.
//fact 1//
I started playing the violin at the age of 5 and stopped at the age of 19. I didn't have the passion to play during that time, but now I do. I would really like to start playing again.
//fact 2//
My parents own a 1955 Chevy Bel-Air that I would love to one day own. I would cherish that car everyday.
//fact 3//
ONE of my biggest fears in life is becoming completely engulfed with debt. I will never finance anything again unless I am buying a house. I had a small taste of debt...not even that bad, and it scared the heck out of me.
//fact 3//
I wish I would of documented my pregnancy with Kimber better. All I have is some crappy snapshots of myself in front of a mirror. :/
//fact 4//
I want to learn how to play the harmonica and the harp.
//fact 5//
I wish I could sing like Florence Welch from Florence + The Machine.
//fact 6//
I wish I viewed the world as Aaron Weiss does.
//fact 7//
I've always loved my freckles on my cheeks.
//fact 8//
My mom is way cooler than yours.
//fact 9//
I love that my mister is the biggest nerd I've ever met. When I say nerd, I mean, NERD. He loves everything about comic books and would beat anyone at Trivial Pursuit. He's so cute. <3
//fact 10//
I used to have a speech impediment when I was younger. I couldn't pronounce my R's correctly and had to take a speech class until 3rd grade. I would say "Erin" like "Ewin" and "rabbit" like "wabbit". If I get mad or talk too fast, sometimes it comes back.
