Wedding Update...

My weekend was pretty busy. My future sister-in-law (who is also a bridesmaid) and my friend Liz came over to help me with the pom-pom flowers. We got a lot done, but there is a lot more to do. Liz made me realize that there are somethings that I didn't even think of, like napkin rings and silver ware. I need to sit down and make a COMPLETE list of the things I will need. I even almost forgot about a garter. I'm so scatterbrained. Hahaha!! I didn't even have an idea of what I wanted for a wedding cake until just recently. Here are a few pictures of the cake that I fancy.

OH...and instead of making invitations, I thought it would be best to just buy them. It will take me WAYYY too long to make them myself. They'll match the cake too!! I was thinking about getting the RSVP cards, but that would set me back another $300, SO instead I'll just note on the bottom of the invitation to RSVP to my e-mail. I'm so cheap. Hahahaha! I found the invitations here: http://www.hellolucky.com/

Yarn Pom Pom DIY.

These are great for any celebration. You can string them together and to make pretty garland for a birthday party or use them for Christmas ornaments...the possiblities are endless. I'm attaching them to floral stem wire and using them as flowers for our wedding. I'll post pictures of the flowers soon.

Step One: Wrap yarn around three fingers 100-120 times. (if you have thinner yarn do it about 120 times) Make sure you don't wrap TOO tight. NOTE: You MIGHT want to have a really comfortable pair of scissors or some band-aids near by because if you are doing a lot of them, your hands will start to hate you.

Step Two: Cut a piece of yarn off about 10 inches long and tie around the yarn VERY tightly.

Step Three: Cut the yarn loops.

It should look like this.

Step Four: Trim!!

On A Good Note...

My paper straws came in!!! I'll be using these cuties for Kimber's birthday party and our wedding.

For the wedding:

found here: http://100layercake.com/blog/archives/4961

Instead of soda, I'll made some lemonade and instead of escort cards, I'll have them say "Erin & Jason May 22nd, 2010". I don't think I like the idea of escort cards. I wouldn't like to make the decisions of where people sit. That kind of seems rude to me.

I'm not sure exactly what refreshments I will make for Kimber's birthday, but these straws will be there.

Ahhhhhhh! Someone HELP!

So, I have to vent a little bit. I feel so overwhelmed right now with everything that I need to do. Here is a small TO DO list:

1. Plan Kimber's birthday party. I need to make a list of guests, get invitations, cake ideas, presents, etc. I only have a month to do it all!!

2. Get SOMETHING done with the wedding crafts. Everything is half-way done. I will start a project and never finish it.

3. Get the bridesmaids together to discuss dresses and possibly have them help me with crafts, plan bridal shower, and discuss details on the bachelorette party.

4. Buy wedding invitations.

5. Sell wedding dress that I bought almost 2 years ago and buy the new one I want.

6. Get a wedding band for Jason.

7. Get with Jason's aunt, uncle and cousin about the wedding decor. Where are the tables going to be set up? How many will we need? Linens? Hay bales for ceremony seating?

8. Wedding cake?

9. Get roots done. They look horrible.

10. Order new contacts.

11. Start a workout and diet plan for me and Jason.

12. Bridal shots with Miss Missy Photography.

13. Buy hair accessories.

14. Wedding food? (other than craw fish)

On top of all of this, the ONLY car that we have broke down on my way home last Tuesday. The repairs are going to cost us about $1500.00 and as of now, it's still in the shop...AND for some reason they can't find one TINY little bearing to finish the job until tomorrow night. So, ALL of my plans that I had last week to go to the park to fly kites, have a picnic, and to go to the vintage store were all squashed. I didn't get ANYTHING done last week and now it looks like THIS week, I won't be able to get anything done. I'm going to be 2 weeks behind on my plans. I don't need this at all right now. It's time that I ask for some help. To my family and friends; if there is ANY way you can help me with any of this, PLEASE let me know. I'm desperate.
