Dave.
I just found out this morning that a friend of mine past away last night. I don't know too many details, but apparently there was an incident that happened while he was floating on the Brazos River. His tube flipped he came up once for air and then back down and he didn't come back up. I wish I could of spent more time with him. We ALL do. He was WAY too young. It's not fair. We share a birthday, but he was 2 years younger. He was a super friendly guy with an amazing soul and smile. He made everyone feel like his best friend. I'm going to miss you David Osborn. We're all going to miss you.

The Places We'll Go...
in Portland.
Potato Champion
Voodoo Doughnut
Powell's Book Store
Buffalo Exchange
Chinese Garden
Rose Garden
The Farmhouse Cafe.
I was watching FoodNetwork the other day and on the show "The Best Thing I Ever Ate", Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes was talking about an awesome veggie burger from this place. It looked SO good, so I have to go here.
We're going to play it by ear too. I don't want this vacation to be TOO planned out. I'm ALWAYS on a schedule here in the real world. I don't want to have a schedule while I'm on vacation.

Dream Catcher.
I had a dream last night. I can't remember the last time I dreamt, but it felt good to dream. I was getting worried I would never dream again. I've been thinking about Portland so much that I guess my brain likes my thinking and it decides that I should think about Portland even while I'm sleeping. My dream started out on a SUPER busy sidewalk in downtown Portland. Jason and I are fighting our way through the crowd to get to a vintage clothing shop. We make it inside and I start trying on dresses...in the middle of the store. People are starring at me, but it doesn't bother me. Then, the next thing I know, Jason's gone. I find the dress I want and go looking for him on the busy sidewalk and find him at Powell's book store looking at comics. I know that's not an amazing dream, but when you don't dream in a long time, you take what you can get. Happy dreaming!!

Goals.
After I get back from Portland, there are a lot of things I need to get done. Priorities DEFINITELY come first, but as soon as I can, I want to start working on Kimber's room (I like the room shown above). I have neglected her room before because she wouldn't go in there very much, but lately she has become a little bit more independent and likes to go in her room to play by herself. I really need to work on ALL of the house, but I tend to set realistic goals. Baby steps. I'm working on making her a crochet blanket for her room right now. Hopefully, I can finish by the time we get her room done. :)
This is the big girl bed I want to get her from IKEA:
A few Etsy finds I found that I want in her room:
This cute vintage tin doll house.
Cute vintage animal figurines.
Some lovely paint by number paintings. :)
Some stuffed animals and pillows.
This pretty vase.
Curtains.
I can make a cute banner like this.
This Cute Daisy Chandelier.
Oh...and enjoy this song by Chief.

Learning to Crochet.

First attempt at crocheting.
I think I did pretty good with the single crochet stitch. I think I'm doing it too tight, though. I guess I'm afraid that it's going to come apart? Tomorrow I will attempt the double crochet stitch. Maybe I can start doing crochet circles too. But for now I'm going to practice this single stitch tonight. YIPPEE!!
Etsy Shop is Offically OPEN!
I finally opened my Etsy shop this weekend. You can find it here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/followXtheXdot?ref=seller_info
I still need to do some editing on my shop, i.e. the banner. I'm also planning on posting a lot more items, hopefully sometime today. I'm slowly, but surely, getting closer to my dream. I just wish I had a little more support from friends and family. Everyone thinks I'm not going to go through with it, but I am! And this proves it. I felt relief and empowerment whenever I posted my first item. Now all I have to do is sell the items. Well, I'm working on some embroidery to sell in my shop. I'll keep you posted!!

Beyond Excited.
Oh, hey there! We are OFFICIALLY going to Portland on the 29th of this month. All it took was 2 hours on the phone with US Airlines to get the airline tickets. What a big mess that was. EEK! I'm just glad that part is over with. I can't be more excited. I keep smiling everytime I think about it. I already reserved the room for Ace Hotel in Portland and I'm already making a list of things to do there. YAY!
PS: AMERICA!!!! Have a fun and safe 4th of July!!
