D.I.Y Monday! Embroidered Christmas Cards.

Supplies:
-Note card with envelopes. I bought a 50 pack from Hobby Lobby.

-Thumb Tack.

-Embroidery floss in the colors of your choice.

-Embroidery needle.

-Tape.

-Patience.


Step One:

Print off the PDF file found here

Step Two:
Cut out the pattern in the dotted lines on the 2nd page and place it on the front of the card. Tape the pattern down. *Don't tape it down hard or it will tear the card once you remove the pattern!

Step Three:
With the tumb tack, punch holes into dots of the pattern.

Step Four:
CAREFULLY remove the taped on pattern from your card. If you are doing more than one, set the pattern aside to re-use it.

Step Five:
Following the direction on the PDF file that you printed off, embroider the card with your choice of embroidery floss. Don't worry about seeing the work on the other side. It just makes it that more special that your family and friends know that it is TRUELY handmade by you.

Step Six:
Personalize it with a thoughtful message and TA DA! You're done!!

D.I.Y. Monday! Crochet Retro Christmas Ornaments.

These little retro Christmas Ornaments are beyond adorable. You could use them as ornaments, make them into a cute little Christmas garland to be wrapped around your Christmas tree or on your fireplace, gift tags, the list goes on and on.



SUPPLIES:

-Yarn. I'm using two colors.
-Crochet hook. F/5-3.75MM
-Things to embellish the ornaments, i.e. buttons, embroidery thread.

PATTERN:
-Start with magic circle method.

-Round one: Ch 3, 11 dc into ring. Pull string tight. (as shown)

slst in top of beginning ch.

*if you are going to change colors, do so now. Fasten off first color and sl st other color at beginning st. (as shown)


-Round two: Ch 3, dc in first st from previous round, 2 dc in each of next 5 st (as shown)

2 treble crochet and picot* in next st, 2 treble crochet in the next st, 2 dc in remaining st, sl st in top of beginning ch.
*To make the picot ch 3 and sl st into third ch from your crochet hook.

-Round three: Ch 2, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in next stitch, fasten off. Weave in any lose strings.


-Embellish with embroidery string, buttons, etc.

D.I.Y. Monday! Crochet Hair Bow.

This is a SUPER easy pattern that you can whip out in about thirty minutes.

SUPPLIES:
-Yarn. I'm using Vanna's Choice 100% Acrylic Medium Yarn.
-H8/5.00mm Crochet Hook.
-Aligator clip or bobby pin.


PATTERN:
Ch 40,
Row 1 - ch2, Sc 40 then turn
Rows 2-7: repeat row 1.
You should now have a rectangle. Fasten off yarn. Slst both ends together.
Center of Bow-
Ch 7 then ch2, Sc 4 rows. Fasten off yarn.
Finishing:
Slst bow center around bow, gathering the middle of the bow and joining at back of bow.
Attach alligator clip or bobby pin to the back of the bow and enjoy! You could easily attached this bow to a headband if you so desired.

DIY Monday! Crochet Triangle Garland.

Today, I'm going to teach you how to make this ADORABLE Triangle Banner. They're super cute and are pretty much perfect anywhere in your house.



*Each triangle is about 3" X 3 1/2"*

SUPPLY LIST:


-Medium (worsted) weight yarn. I'm using some cheap Red Heart Yarn. I find this type of yarn is kind of scratchy, so it's not too comfortable for blankets and scarves so for this banner project, it's perfect since no one is going to wear it.

-Size H/8-5.00MM crochet hook.

-Scissors.

PATTERN:

(for the triangles)
ch 6, slst into first st to make a ring.

Round 1- ch 3, 2 dc in center of the ring, ch 4, 3 dc in ring, ch 4, 3 dc in ring, ch 4, slst into the ch-3 in the beginning of the round.

Round 2- ch 3, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 4, 2 dc) in the ch-4 sp, ch 2, * dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 4, 2 dc) in next ch-4 sp, ch 2 **, repeat the directions between * and ** once, then sl st in beginning ch-3 of this round, fasten off.

Don't worry if your triangles look a little wonky. Just stretch them a little and they will look fine. Make as many as you want for your garland. I made five for mine.

ATTACHING THE TRIANGLES:

ch 20, slst onto a corner of your first triangle. Like so...



sc 2 in ch-2 sp, sc 1 in next 2 st, sc 2 in ch-2 sp, sc 1 in next 4 stitch, sc 2 in ch-2 sp, sc 1 in next 2 st, sc 2 in ch-2 sp, ch 15 repeat this process until all triangles are attached, ch 25 and fasten off.
