Crochet Heart Headband D.I.Y.

Today, I'm going to show you how to make your own adorable crochet heart headband. Just in time for Valentine's Day. If you're a fast crocheter, it will only take about ten minutes to do.

//Supplies//

Yarn. I'm using Vanna's Choice Yarn in Dusty Purple.

Size H/8-5.00MM Crochet Hook.

//Step One//
Making the heart.

The pattern is a LITTLE confusing. Just make sure you follow STEP by STEP!!
Ch 6 and join with sl st

Rnd 1: Working in ring: sc, hdc, dc, 2tr, 2dc, 3hdc, sc, dc, sc, 3hdc, 2dc, 2tr, dc, hdc, sc.
Join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: ch1, sc in same st, 2hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 2 tr in next 2 st, dc in next 2 sts, 2hdc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, dc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, dc in next 2 sts, 2tr in next 2st, 2 dc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, sc. sl st to join

//Tip//
If you wanted, you could stop here and grab an alligator clip and attached the clip to the back of the heart and clip it in your hair. I think I'm going to make a lot of these for my daughter. :)

//Step Two//
Making the headband.

The headband is just a long chain. I chained until it fit snug around my head. When you finish off the chain, leave a little extra string so you can tie it. *Remember, yarn stretches so don't make it too loose.*

//Step Three//
Joining the heart and the headband.

Place the headband chain around your head and pick a spot where you want it to go. Grab the spot with your fingers and put your hook through to mark it. With the back of the heart facing you, sc the chain to the back of the heart. It doesn't have to look perfect. No one will see that side.

Annnnnd you're DONE! I hope you enjoyed this week's D.I.Y!!

Happy crocheting!!!

Craft Tip.

If you work with yarn a lot, you probably wind your yarn into yarn balls to keep from knotting up later on. Say you already have your yarn ball and you start crocheting and your yarn ball is going every which way around you, either on the floor getting dirty or next to you driving your cat crazy. Well, I solved this problem.

Put it in a bowl!!

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has thought of this, but it works great. Try it!!

Also, I'm sad to say that I probably won't have the D.I.Y done in time today, so I'm hoping I'll have time to post it tomorrow!! Get your crochet hooks ready!

I love playing with my camera.

Oh, hi there, stranger! Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Time just seems to slip away from me these days. I've been really into taking pictures with my new camera. I love it so much!! I even joined a 365 group on Flickr. Here are some pictures I took on Wednesday. It was a REALLY pretty day outside, so we decided to go to the park and to my father-in-law's ranch to go visit the cows and horses.

I'm planning on playing with bokeh filters this week like these pictures:

2 0 1 1.

2010 was a roller coaster of a year. More bad news than good. The only super great things that happened were that I got married and we visited Portland. :D It could of been a lot worse, but it could of been a lot better too. I did learn and mature a lot in 2010. Here are some resolutions and goals that I will be working on this year.

1. No more smoking. Do I really have to explain why?

source

2. Pay off ALL debt.

source

3. Downsize. This includes renting a smaller house or ::gulp:: an apartment. I hate living in apartments. This also means that we'll have to have a garage sale to save space for a smaller house. Hopefully, we'll find a cute old house like this one:

4. Monthly photoshoots with Kimber. I want to capture as much as I can of her. She's getting so big, so fast. It's the only way to keep her at the same age forever.

5. Be organized when planning anything and everything.

6. Healthy habits. I believe your at your happiest when you're at your healthiest.

7. Spend more quality time with my best friend. My husband.

8. 365 project. Starting today (when I get home from work).
